His Grace

"It is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10

How true this is. There are so many people in this world wandering aimlessly looking for their "higher calling", their "purpose in life". If only they would fall to their knees and lift their heads up high they would receive the grace that He bestows on believers. God knew us before we were born, knows us after we die. Time does not move for Him the way it moves for us. He has prepared a life for us, a way that can bring glory to Him, because He is the only one that deserves it. Given even half the chance to do things right in life, we most assuredly boast in ourselves. And why? Why would we be able to do anything on our own? He is the author of life, breathed into man with His own breath. Yet we take the glory from Him and put it in ourselves, in science, in preposterous beliefs like "evolution", the "big bang". How ridiculous that man came from a glob of goo yet no one asks enough, where in the world did their supposed goo come from? Matter, dark matter? No, not only is it ridiculous it is an utter lie, created by the deceiver. You think man came up with such an absurd idea by himself? Absolutely not. Man was manipulated by the ultimate liar just as He was in the garden. God created us each, knowing who would and would not come to Him, yet loving us all the same. He doesn't boast as we do, doesn't demand the respect that He deserves. He freely gives us grace, grace that we are not worthy of.

I thank you Dear Lord, for the grace that you have so generously given and I pray that the hardened hearts of so many will be softened so that your kingdom can expand!

This song popped in my head when I heard about the Earthquake this morning and decided to write a blog. In times of crisis as humans we often say to ourself, "why, why is this happening?" We riddle ourselves with questions that we have no answers too and could never possible truly answer. We are mere mortal men, how could we possibly shine any light to the magnitude of His power? We can't. We simply must remember always, He is mighty to save. Always and forever mighty. We have no answers with Him, but with Him, we have the assurance of a better place. What is happening in the world today is devastating of course, but if 1 person who previously didn't believe turns his life over to God because of this tragedy, His kingdom gains glory and that is magnificent. He by no means does things to bring glory to Himself, but He deserves it nonetheless. His hands parted the red sea, completely, and allowed the Israelite's to walk safely across. Today, His hands rocked the oceans, trembled the ground. It's sad, it's heartbreaking, but it's TRUTH.

Renewed spirit

It seems like every time I go to start blogging again, my first sentence is: "wow it's been a long time". How does life get so crazy? How do we allow ourselves to get so bogged down that we don't take the time out to relax, praise God for the blessings in our life? I am definitely guilty of this. I tell myself, "Oh, I'm just so busy". But the reality is, the lie takes a hold of my life. The lie that we as humans believe far too often; the lie that started this fallen world--that we somehow are the most important part of life.

The truth, He is and always will be the most important part of life. He is the way, the truth and the life. Without Him, nothing is possible. With Him, the possibilities are endless. With Him, my life has a purpose and meaning and I know that I can succeed. SO much of my life as been spent focusing on what I thought was important; learning to focus on what is truly important, the great I Am, that has been more difficult that I could have imagined. Never because it's not worth the struggles, but because Satan is so evident in this world. He tries each and every moment to spread his vile distaste for the Lord through a world that desperately wants control. He knows the human condition, the condition in which we believe we know what is best. He spreads his lie, just as he has since the beginning of time. The only defense, submerge myself in the living breath word of Christ. With it, I am unstoppable at spreading the hope that comes from trusting in the Lord.
