Childlike Faith

{This is a video of my son "reading" his Bible. No, he is not reading it for real, and he quotes scripture that is not real, but it just showed me how innocent he is and how much he simply loves the Lord. He wanted to read, and so he did....kind of :)}

"Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it at all”
Mark 10:15

What is “childlike faith”?

How can thinking like a child be good for our walk?

I witness childlike faith every day through my beautiful children. They teach me more about pure, genuine love in Jesus than any adult could begin to teach. They make up songs about how good God is. They make up stories with Dad about God delivering people out of difficult situations. Last night Jaxson said that he missed an Uncle of ours that passed away in Sept. He then said that he looks forward to being in heaven….WOW. This may sound strange to some, but for me, to have a child that longs to be with the Lord, it was breathtaking.

We as adults are so busy and so weighed down with life that we often miss out on some of the most innocent of moments—moments when God is calling out to us to just trust Him.

We have such a problem doing this. I know I do at least. I far too often think I can fix a situation on my own, or see a situation as hopeless when in truth; He has it all under control. Children see this, children GET this!

Jaxson is by far our most vocal about Christ. We can be driving down the road and out of nowhere he’ll make up a song about how good God is. Or he’ll sweetly say, please turn up the radio, I need to hear God.

Melt. My. Heart.

If only we could all be like children and just simply KNOW that He is good, all of the time! If only the weight of our sinful lives didn’t make us question Him, or ourselves. Children don’t have this problem. They have lives that are protected, and they can experience Him in ways that we simply are blind to because of weight we carry around.

I praise God for using my children to remind me that I need this childlike faith—and I don’t want to ever be “too mature” to simply WORSHIP Him!

This song by Chris Tomlin was a sweet reminder as well that our God, He is a GREAT GOD!

How great is our God
By: Chris Tomlin

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

Name above all names
Worthy of our praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God
