I Am Chosen

God chose me.

Why? I am nothing.
What have I ever done for Him?
Am I special at all?

I have been wrestling with this concept for a long time.

God. Chose. Me.

But, if God chose me, then why did I take so long to respond? Why are there still SO many who do not choose Him today?

“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Matthew 22:14

God has called the entire world, but only some will choose Him, only some will accept His calling. Only some will be willing to die to themselves and take up the cross with Him. Only some will be the chosen.

When we accept His calling, when we accept His path, we are then chosen.

God wishes that we all come to Him, that no one perish and be cast into the pits of hell. But, this is not the reality of the flesh that wars against Him. Some will not accept His calling and some will not be chosen.

“And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.   And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father,"

Colossians 3:12-17

Those that do accept Him will long to be compassionate, holy and beloved, kind and humble, gentle and patient. We will bear with one another, forgive one another. We will LOVE.

Will you accept His calling today? Or will you decide you have not been chosen?
